Angery Birds vs Pacman

Angry Birds has proven how addicting and popular it is. It's reached a record 500 million downloads in less than two years and has been on top of the charts since it was released in 2009. I don't have a new enough phone to have mobile games but I have played Angry Birds and it's perfect for a mobile game. It's challenging, appeals to many age groups, not too complex and most importantly, addicting. Being the average gamer that I am, I was wondering how other arcade type games would have done in their time if you could have download games rather than play them at arcades, Atari systems, or on a graphing calculator (best part of math class in high school = Space Invaders).

Angry Birds is similar to many Atari games that I've played. It's two dementail, the action goes in one direction, and they involve some thinking. So lets imagine that its 1980 something and you can download those type of games to a smart phone. Lets also pretend that the graphics are up to par with those of Angry Birds. The games that would've competed with Angry Birds for top download spot would be, Space Invaders, Pacman and Asteroid for sure. Heck they are still popular or at least were on the graphing calculators when I was in high school.

Angry Birds, congratulations on being the most downloaded game ever, but be happy you didn't have to go up against the likes of Blinky, Inky, and so on. They would've given you a run for your money.
